Emotion at Work Podcast

Thursday, August 1, 2019

The Emotion at Work podcast is relatively unedited, authentic, and conversational, dealing with what host Phil Willcox considers the "people stuff" of L&D with thought leaders who are passionate about what they do. Willcox, the founder of the Emotion at Work company, delivers the podcast roughly monthly. Each episode is about one hour long.

Willcox opens every episode with a personal question. In episode 36, for example, he asks Jim Kirkpatrick what meal he would cook to make someone feel special, after which they discuss Kirkpatrick's four levels of evaluation, highlighting human collaboration and connectedness. Kirkpatrick also suggests that instructional designers embrace their shift to, in his words, learning and performance architects. Other recent topics include community management, organizational change, and digital body language.
