Peggy Greenberg
ABOUT ME

Peggy Greenberg is the former Director of the Office of Education & Training for the United States Senate. She held this position from September 1999 until her retirement in late September 2010. In this role, Peggy was responsible for the training and development of all Senate staff in both the Senate’s Washington DC offices and all the Senate state offices. The Office of Education & Training offered programs in a wide variety of areas including general professional development, management and leadership development, legislative information and technical computer skills training. Peggy regularly facilitated staff retreats for Senate offices and also managed other professional staff that did similar types of work.

 

Upon her retirement from the Senate, Peggy started her own training and consulting firm, Peggy Greenberg Training & Consulting. Her clients have included the Department of Justice, Glenridge Health, US Senate offices, K-12, Washington Council of Governments, National Spine and Pain Center and the City of Alexandria to name a few. Peggy is a moderator for an online leadership development course offered through Harvard Business Publishing. She also facilitates a Change Management certificate program , Facilitation Skills certificate program and Developing Leadership Development Programs certificate  program for ATD. Peggy has an executive coaching practice and has coached health care and non-profit executives over the past year and a half.

 

For three years prior to coming to the Senate Peggy was the Director of Organization Effectiveness and Performance Consulting for Med Star Physician Partners, which is the physician organization of the Med Star Health system. In this capacity Peggy was responsible for all training and development for a staff of approximately 1200 employees and physicians. Peggy worked extensively with the Medical Group to develop the culture of the group and to develop physicians in their roles as managers and leaders.

 

Before working at Med Star Peggy worked for 12 years as the Director of Learning and Organization Development for Kaiser Permanente of the Mid Atlantic States. In this capacity Peggy was responsible for the training and development of 3100 employees including clinical training, job related skills training, supervisory and management development and organization development services. Peggy started this function in this region and was recognized in the Kaiser Permanente organization nationwide as a leader in the training and organization development area.

 

Before moving to the Washington DC area Peggy lived and worked in Boston as a staff nurse at Boston City Hospital and later as the Director of Education at Kennedy Memorial Hospital for Children. Peggy currently resides in Newburyport, MA with her husband Brian. When she is not working, Peggy enjoys traveling, taking long bike rides and spending time with her granddaughter.
