Effective Evaluation

Effective Evaluation: Measuring Learning Programs for Success shares how organizations are currently using evaluation. Based on a survey of 779 talent development professionals, the report found that while nearly all organizations are using any level of evaluation, fewer have had success using evaluation to meet goals. Half of respondents (50 percent) believed their organization’s evaluation efforts were effective in meeting learning goals, and fewer (40 percent) thought those efforts were effective in meeting business goals.

To help organizations conduct learning evaluations with greater success, Effective Evaluation examines the effectiveness of each level of evaluation, identifies common barriers to effective evaluation, and shares insights from subject matter experts for how talent development can overcome those barriers. The report also discusses the approaches organizations use in their evaluation efforts, including funding, data sources, and the types of learning programs most likely to be evaluated at each level.
