It’s that time of year when retailers are inundated with temporary employees, adding stress to frontline supervisors who may be lacking the knowledge and skills they need even in the best of times.
A few years ago I found myself in a last-minute panic to pick up one final Christmas gift at a kitchen shop in a mall. There was one employee running one register. I was at least fifth or sixth in line, waiting my turn. As I neared the register, I learned what was taking so long…the
