One thing is for certain: Summer is anything but quiet around here. With our transition from ASTD to ATD and the launch of a new Community of Practice, Science of Learning, there are some exciting happenings on the horizon.

  • For ATD Members: We've created a new research resource for finding research articles in L&D and beyond. Explore the SciLearn home page and click around on the Research Resource widget. For those of us who stay on the lookout for numbers to support our processes, this widget lists a number of articles, curated by me, on the topics of learning & memory, organizational dynamics, performance & motivation, and translating research into practice. There are also several hand-picked reports and articles that discuss core knowledge for L&D practitioners and tackle key issues such as use of technology and project management. Click the "L&D Foundations" and "Community Picks" buttons and browse away!
  • For everyone: Join me and fellow Science of Learning enthusiasts on Google+. The Science of Learning G+ community is your place to share articles, insights, and get the latest from the SciLearn blog. And don't forget to sign up for the SciLearn newsletter and follow SciLearn on Twitter to stay posted.

Up next, I hope to see some of you at Leaving ADDIE for SAM in Boston, July 21-22. It's not to late to sign up, and Boston is beautiful in the Summertime. I hope everyone here in the U.S. has a safe and fun 4th of July holiday. Until next time...
