ATD CI Digital Badge Program

Your hard work has paid off—you have earned an ATD CI credential!

Share Your Achievements

The APTD and CPTD credentials validate the knowledge and skills you have acquired. What better way to showcase your expertise and accomplishments than with a digital badge?

Now you can quickly and easily share verified proof of your ATD CI certification across a variety of platforms however you choose. ATD CI has partnered with Acclaim to provide you with a digital badge that proudly displays your professional qualifications and achievements.

What Is a Digital Badge?

Digital badges are images linked to verifiable details about your certification that can be used in email signatures, personal websites, and social media sites such as LinkedIn and Twitter, as well as on electronic copies of resumes. Digital badges help ATD CI certificants convey to employers, potential employers, and interested parties that they have the skills required to earn and maintain their APTD or CPTD certification.

Your badge is a digital version of your certification, skills, and qualifications. It allows you to easily show your colleagues, friends, or potential employers:

  • when you earned the certification and when it expires
  • what key skills are associated with the certification
  • what it takes to qualify for the certification
  • the work you do to actively maintain the certification.

You can share your badge on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, in an email signature, or embed it in a website.

Why Should I Use a Digital Badge?

ATD has partnered with Credly to develop this digital badge program to help solve a problem many of our certification holders have expressed to us:

"Lots of HR and management professionals do not understand the specialized skills and abilities I have, or how to verify them. Participating in the ATD CI digital badge program will help increase awareness of our field’s certifications, and more importantly, how they differentiate you from other talent development professionals. There’s great value in being ATD CI certified, let’s promote that!”

How Do I Claim My Digital Badges?

After you have earned your APTD or CPTD certification, you will be sent an email with instructions regarding claiming your digital badge.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a digital badge?
Digital badge refers specifically to badges that adhere to an open standard being led by the Mozilla Foundation for recognizing and validating learning. They are secure, web-enabled credentials that contain real-time verifiable information employers can use to evaluate an individual's qualifications.
What is the difference between my APTD or CPTD certification and an ATD CI digital badge?
Your APTD or CPTD credential is earned only after successfully completing the certification exams with a passing score. Digital badges are a web-enabled, digital representation of that certification, enriched with a standardized set of meta data that verify your achievement. You would be granted the digital badge after completion of the certification exams.
How does my certification get displayed as a badge?
We have partnered with Credly to translate the knowledge and skills you’ve demonstrated into a badge, issued and managed through the company’s Acclaim platform. The technology Credly uses on its Acclaim platform is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share, and verify your competencies digitally.
What are the benefits of a badge?
Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted, and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and what you’re now capable of.
Who is Credly?
Credly is the end-to-end solution for issuing and managing digital credentials. Credly works with credible organizations to provide digital credentials to individuals, worldwide.
How will I know if I’ve earned a badge?
Badges will be awarded upon successful completion of the APTD and CPTD certifications. If your certification is expired or has been revoked, you will not receive a badge. Likewise, when your certification expires, if you do not recertify, your badge will reflect that you are no longer certified.
Why I have not received emails?
You will receive an email notification from the Credly platform (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account shortly after you have been notified of your successful certification.

Emails for the digital badging program will come from Credly's admin@credly.com address. Please whitelist this email address to ensure smooth delivery of necessary setup and account notices.
What if I don’t want my badge to be public?
You can easily configure your privacy settings in the Acclaim platform. You’re in complete control of your personal information. You can also choose not to claim your badge at all.
Why must I approve social media sites to post on by behalf?
The user (you) must give permission for the bridge between the social media site and Acclaim to exist, but at no time will Acclaim post without an action being initiated by the user. Any activity taken on a user's behalf must first be initiated by them, otherwise the social platform will turn off Acclaim's access. Acclaim will never do anything beyond post a badge for a user (after it is requested), but social media sites only provide these standard permission screens and do not allow specific actions to be omitted.

If you are still not comfortable establishing this link, we certainly understand. You can still share your badge and accomplishment by using the public URL and posting right into your social media account as a status update or tweet.
Is there a fee to use Credly’s Acclaim platform?
No. This is a service we provide to you, at no cost.
What’s to keep someone else from copying my badge and using it?
While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on Credly’s Acclaim platform. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.
Where and how can I share my badge through Credly’s Acclaim platform?
You can share your badge directly from the Acclaim platform to LinkedIn, Twitter, WhatsApp, and Facebook; over email; or embedded in a website, digital resume, or in your email signature.
Who do I contact if there is a problem with my badge?
If your question relates to the status of your certification, please contact certification@td.org. If your question relates to the Acclaim website, please contact Acclaim support ( http://support.youracclaim.com).
